DIY: Cup of Cheer

Are you done with all your holiday shopping yet? I finished last week, and it feels great. I love shopping at Christmas time, but going to the mall this time of year is a huge hassle, and the closer it gets to Christmas, the crazier it becomes.

If you’re still trying to grab a couple gifts, or maybe you just want to avoid the mall completely…or maybe you just really like to give DIY presents, today’s project will be perfect for you: DIY Sharpie Mug.

These have been all over Pinterest for a while and have definitely been on my list of to do’s. Find yourself a plain ceramic mug (or bowl, or plate, etc.) and a good quote or design to draw on it. Make sure you pick up the Oil Based Sharpies so they don’t wash off. If you’re not totally confident about your drawing or writing skills, stencils and stickers work great too. There are a ton of great ideas on Pinterest if you’re looking for a little more inspiration.

So paint it, bake it, and start sipping (or gifting).

• Ceramic Mug
• Oil Based Sharpies

1. Grab a clean mug and your oil-based Sharpie pens, and start writing or drawing on the mug.

2. Let dry completely.

3. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. (Let the mugs preheat with the oven AND cool in the oven for 30 minutes after to prevent cracking.)
