When September 1 rolls around I kick into “Fall Mode.” Might be a littler too early for some (and generally the weather likes to fight back and stay hot), but it’s officially October so we should all be getting into the season. If you’re looking for some fun fall festivities to do in the upcoming weekends, read on.
One of Zack and I’s favorite fall traditions is going apple picking (read all about last year’s trip here). Apple picking in CA is very different from NC but when your dying for cooler weather so you can experience fall for an afternoon, you take what you can get. Last year’s trip, while fun for a spontaneuos adventure, had a few hiccups, so this year we did a little more planning.
We knew we wanted to go earlier in the season so there would actually be apples to pick + try and get a larger group of friends to join. We set the date for a Sunday in early September, and it was a success. To top it off my mom had a last minute business trip out to LA so she stuck around for the weekend and was able to join us. The trees ACTUALLY had apples on them so we picked a few, then we set off for our picnic. . .which, just like last year, was killer. So. Much. Food. We also enjoyed a wine tasting again at Snowline Orchard + their to die for apple cider donuts as well as a corn maze at another farm down the road.
This weekend Zack and I are decorating pumpkins and watching Halloween movies, and in a few weeks we’re going to a interactive haunted house. Grab your plaid shirts and fat pants, folks, the best time of the year is only beginning!
