Best of the Vest: Part 1

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Today’s post is the first in a 2 part series because I’m obsessed with this trench vest and think it deserves a double feature. I love when clothes can function as dressy or casual, so today I’m taking this vest and showing you how I dressed it up.

To be honest, I love this entire look. WhoWhatWear has been killing it with their Target collection. I bought a few pieces over the summer that will transition perfectly into fall, but their fall lineup was so great that I’ve added a few more to my closet.

Let’s talk more about this vest. The length is perfect for the season, and olive is a great neutral (and one of my favorite fall colors for anything from denim to nail polish) that will pair perfectly with so many looks. I’m loving it over this floral dress because, unlike a jacket, it doesn’t hide the dress but still provides some warmth for a cooler day or night.

There’s also a ton of little details in this look that just add a little something extra, in my opinion. The high-low hem of the dress adds a nice contrast to the straight hem of the vest. It also has faux leather detailing at the sleeve and neckline. And the boots. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I love shoes, and ankle boots are my weakness. The metal details on these little black boots sucked me right in. With these little details + the floral print, I didn’t really do much extra accessorizing. . .just a simple necklace was all I needed.

I already have a few dinners and dates in mind that I’ll be recycling this look for (maybe just switch up the dress with others in my closet).

XO – Courtney
