Picnic Kings

A couple weeks ago, Zack + I picnicked at Malibu Wines for our anniversary (post here), and I wanted to share with you a few tips to create the perfect picnic.

Zack + I love a good picnic spread. First step: get the perfect picnic basket or bag. We were gifted this picnic backpack last Christmas and it is complete with the works: plates, silverware, napkins, a corkscrew, a blanket, a cooler compartment. . . even mini salt + pepper shakers! Step two: Pack your feast. There are tons of options when it comes to packing a delicious picnic. Here are some of our favorites: an assortment of cheeses, meats, + crackers; chicken + biscuits; potato salad; fruit; something sweet (like pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!); and of course WINE.

I know it’s December, and you might think it’s too cold to put together an outdoor picnic, but I think you can put together the perfect picnic anytime of year with a little creativity. Grab a thermos and fill it with hot cocoa, tea, or cider; bundle up in a warm blanket, or even keep it indoors and set up by a fireplace.

Happy picnicking!

XO – Courtney
