The dog days of summer are upon us, and I don’t know about you, but I’m dreaming of the days when the air gets crisp, the leaves start to change, and I can start wearing layers again!
I think I’m extra antsy for fall this year because this will be the first time in 4 years that I’ll get a REAL fall (one of the things I would change about LA if I could, you know, control the weather).
Anyway, if you’re like me, you’re slowly shoving your summer clothes aside for some fall pieces. But don’t pack it all up just yet. . .today I’m sharing how your favorite summer dress can be the perfect transition piece from summer to fall.
There a THREE things I like to consider when picking out those transition pieces:
ONE: The print. I went with this simple black + white polka dot, a trend that’s still going strong, and can easily be styled multiple ways.
TWO: The length. I like a longer length dress as the weather gets cooler, so I went with a midi dress, but a shorter dress would work if you pair it with tights!
THREE: The styling possibilities. Think about all the ways you can mix it up depending on the weather. A warmer day? Wear it as is, but with a pair of sneakers rather than sandals (1). Layer a tee (or sweater) over the dress to create the illusion of a skirt (2). Wear a tee underneath to transform the strappy dress into a practical outfit for a cooler day (3).
Check out how I styled my dress below, and let me know your favorite look in the comments!
